Asking for Help (and how I’m going to win $100)
I know I’m in a rut. I know I’ve made some bad decisions. But luckily, in the past couple years, I’ve learned what to do about it. I’ve learned what motivates me, what kicks me in the ass and what I can do to get the weight off. One of those things is to ask my friends and family for help.
Last week, I emailed a friend who has been a great support for me in this journey and told her I was STRUGGLING. She mentioned that she too needed to get back on track with her healthy habits and shed a few pounds.
Within a few minutes, we had decided that we will hold each other accountable from today (July 5) until Labor Day. We will talk trash, encourage, share food ideas and ultimately, help each other get back to where we want to be. AND - to make it juicy, we bet $100 each for the one who loses the most percentage by September 5. It gave me the excitement of a challenge and the encouragement of knowing someone else is fighting with me.
I had an egg white omelette for breakfast, I am already 4 glasses of water in and I signed up for my favorite spin class tonight after work. Sometimes a little motivation goes a long way!
